On Friday, 24 July 2026, the Director-General of the General Directorate of National Defence Policy and International Relations (GDNDPIR) of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence, Ambassador a.h. Michel Spinellis held bilateral consultations at the Hellenic Air Force Academy with Ms Radmila Perović, Acting Defence Policy Director at the Ministry of Defence of Montenegro. These talks were conducted under the auspices of security diplomacy and specifically aimed to enhance mutual defence relations between Greece and Montenegro.

The principal thrust of the discussions focused on strengthening strategic alignment between the two nations, both on a joint basis and within the framework of NATO. Additionally, the interlocutors reviewed stability and ongoing geopolitical developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East and Ukraine, and the Western Balkans, while also addressing Montenegro’s European Union accession process.

Upon the conclusion of the proceedings, the Defence Policy Directors acknowledged the excellent level of cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to foster this partnership on state-to-state and multilateral levels.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Montenegrin delegation had the opportunity to meet a compatriot Air Force cadet currently attending the Academy under the Bilateral Educational Assistance Agreement.
