On Wednesday, 8 April 2026, the Director – General of the General Directorate of National Defence Policy and International Relations (GDNDPIR) of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence, Ambassador a.h. Michel Spinellis, held bilateral consultations with Mr Guillaume Ollagnier, Director-General of International Relations and Strategy at the French Ministry of Defence, as part of the 5th Greece – France Strategic Dialogue.

The principal thrust of the consultations was on strengthening the strategic partnership between Greece and France in the fields of defence and security. Particular emphasis was placed on the upcoming renewal of the Strategic Partnership Agreement for Cooperation in Defence and Security between the two countries.

Following the conclusion of the consultations, both parties acknowledged the robustness of the Greece–France strategic defence alliance and reiterated their dedication to enhancing it further, both through bilateral cooperation and within the structures of the European Union and NATO.
