The National Defence Planning Section includes the Defence Planning and Programming offices. This Section is responsible for:
➢ Handling all matters pertinent to national defence planning and programming on the basis of the approved National Defence Policy and the operational priorities of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff and the General Staffs of the Branches.
➢ Drafting the Long-term Programme for the Provision of Defence Material (MPPAY) and the Three-year Rolling Programme for the Provision – Delivery of Defence Material (TKPPPAY), in cooperation with the Financial Directorate of the General Directorate of Financial Planning and Support.
➢ Monitoring, evaluating and handling in the framework of NATO, EU and other international organisations the relevant to defence planning matters.
➢ Issuing a publication describing the work and the overall policy of the MoD (“White Paper on Defence”)
