The European Defence Agency (EDA) is organizing, in cooperation with the Hellenic Ministry of Defence, a Maritime Security Conference with the title “The importance of an innovative approach for Maritime Security” on the 16th of November 2017. The conference will be conducted under the auspices of the Estonian Presidency of the European Council at the Hellenic Navy NMIOTC in Crete.

The issue of the Maritime Security will be addressed by a series of panel discussions, which will focus on the strategic policy levers for maritime security, the importance of an innovative approachfor technology, in particular unmanned systems, and the final panel will address the pertinent challenges of maritime domain awareness.
