The General Director of the General Directorate of National Defence Policy and International Relations (GDNDPIR) of the Hellenic Ministry of National Defence, Ambassador a.h. Michel Spinellis, in the broader context of defence diplomacy and in particular the further strengthening of bilateral relations between Greece and the United Kingdom, held bilateral consultations on 29 September 2025 with Ms Joanne Hamer, MBE, Director of Euro-Atlantic Security at the UK Ministry of Defence.

The discussions focused on the deepening of bilateral defence relations between the two countries, both on a bilateral level as well as within the framework of NATO. In addition, the security situation and ongoing geopolitical developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East and Ukraine were examined.

Following the conclusion of the meeting, both sides acknowledged the high level of defence cooperation between their countries and reaffirmed their commitment to enhance it further through both bilateral and multilateral efforts.
