The Director-General of the General Directorate of National Defence Policy and International Relations (DGNDPIR) of the Ministry of National Defence, Ambassador a.h. Michel Spinellis, in the broader context of defence diplomacy and in particular the strengthening of bilateral defence relations between Greece and Hungary, held bilateral consultations with his Hungarian counterpart, Mr László HAJNIK, following an official invitation from the latter, in Budapest.
These consultations followed bilateral talks that took place from 03 to 05 April 2023, in Athens and in the Evros region, at the level of Defence Policy Directors between Greece and Hungary.
The main axis of the discussion was the deepening of the defence relations between the two countries, both on a bilateral level, as well as within the framework of NATO and the European Union. In addition, the security situation and regional developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, Ukraine, the Western Balkans and Africa were examined.
Following the conclusion of bilateral consultations, the two Directors of Defence Policy acknowledged the excellent level of defence cooperation between the two countries.
