The General Directorate for National Defence Policy and International Relations of the Ministry of National Defence is organising the 2nd High Level Working Meeting on “Management of Transnational Crisis & International Armed Conflicts/Analysis — Impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine”.
This event will take place from 23 to 25 November 2022, at the Auditorium “Lieutenant (HAF) Nikolaos Sialmas” of the Hellenic Air Force Academy in Tatoi, with the participation of senior officials of the Armed Forces and the wider public sector, and constitutes a follow-up to a related action that took place in June 2020.
The purpose of the 2nd High Level Working Meeting (HLWM) is to provide information, at inter-ministerial level, to key enablers who are directly involved in managing the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on Greece. The particular objectives set out include:
• Considering ways of dealing with the crisis created by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, in the perspective of a Holistic Approach.
• Analysis of the lessons learned so far.
• Assessment of possible impacts at national level, in case of deterioration of the situation.
• Identification of major effects at national level, if the situation deteriorates.
• Drawing useful conclusions to deal with future transnational regional crises.
The speakers of the workshop will be high-ranking officials — public actors from the competent Ministries of our country, as well as specialized scientists and recognised experts from Greece and abroad.
The thematic sessions of the High-Level Working Meeting include:
• A presentation of the facts of the crisis and of the invasion of Ukraine (development, strategic analysis and impact).
• Analysis of the impact of the armed conflict in Ukraine, at international and national level (security challenges and threats, foreign and border security, energy security, supply chain security).
